Before Your Quilt Begins Its Journey
Every quilt that comes through Cat Mesa Quilting is treated like it’s one of my own. My goal is to help you create a beautiful finished quilt while making the process simple, enjoyable, and free of surprises.
To help with that, here are a few things to know before your quilt heads onto the longarm.
Quilt Preparation
Please bring or ship your quilt top, backing, and batting ready for quilting. If your project needs extra preparation before it can be loaded onto the machine—such as pressing, trimming loose threads, squaring the quilt or backing, or other finishing work—a preparation fee of $25 per hour will apply.
If Something Unexpected Comes Up
Every quilt is unique, and occasionally I may find something that needs your attention or could result in additional work or cost. If that happens, I’ll contact you before moving forward. I won’t perform additional work or add charges without your approval.
If I’m unable to reach you, your quilt will simply be placed on hold until we’ve had a chance to talk through the best solution together.

About Quilt Construction
Longarm quilting beautifully enhances your quilt, but it can’t correct construction issues from the piecing process.
If your quilt top isn’t square, has wavy or full borders, stretched fabric, or uneven seams, small tucks, pleats, or fullness may occur during quilting. I’ll always do my best to ease these areas and make them as unnoticeable as possible, but I can’t guarantee perfectly matching seams, points, or borders.
Handmade Quilts Are Wonderfully Unique
Because every quilt is handmade, no two projects are exactly alike. Fabric quality, seam strength, piecing accuracy, batting choice, and other materials all play a role in the finished result.
While I handle every quilt with the utmost care, Cat Mesa Quilting cannot be responsible for issues resulting from fabric defects, unstable dyes, weak seams, construction flaws, or other conditions present before quilting.
Payment
Payment is due when your quilt is finished. If your quilt is being shipped, it will be mailed back as soon as payment has been received.
